"Trigger" is an insurance coverage term not found in insurance policies but commonly used in referring to what must happen during a policy period in order to obtain coverage. Vance Woodward's commentary Is "Injury In Fact" Really a Trigger in Insurance Coverage attempts to resolve the long-standing confusion surrounding the trigger theory commonly referred to as "injury in fact." Mr. Woodward's commentary was recently published in Mealey’s Litigation Report. Mr. Woodward is an associate in the Insurance Coverage Practice Group of Carroll Burdick & McDonough.
